The Reeths-Puffer boys bowling team opened the duel match portion of its season on Monday with an easy 27-3 victory over Grand Haven.

The Rockets got off to a great start by sweeping the two baker games, and winning the baker pin total, to gain 10 points.

R-P also swept both regular games - 918-702 and 868-860 - plus the regular game pin total, to add another 10 points.

Liam Copenhaver, Ryleigh Beebe, Tanner Bahr, Carter Hekkema and Karsen Boeskool each earned a point for the Rockets by winning their matchups in Game 1. Copenhaver had the high score of 207.

Beebe and Sean Brennan each earned a point by winning in Game 2. Beebe rolled a 244.

“The boys performed really well in our first duel match of the season,” said R-P Coach Craig Alderink. “It was quite a turnaround from our 26-4 loss to Grand Haven last season. We won all of the points from the baker games and clinched the match by winning all of the points from the first regular game. The match was already decided before the last game even started.

“All five of the seniors bowled well today, especially Ryleigh Beebe, who rolled two really nice scores and set a new career high score of 244 in his first action of the season after missing our first two tournaments.”

The Rockets will hit the road to bowl against Hudsonville on Wednesday.
