The Reeths-Puffer boys bowling team had a good outing on Saturday at the Jenison Invitational.
The Rockets competed against 13 other teams, finished second in the qualifying round with a score of 2,737, and qualified for the championship round.
They lost to Byron Center 388-367 in the semifinals and finished third as a team in the tournament.
Liam Copenhaver
Senior standout Liam Copenhaver finished second individually in the tournament with a 436 series and won his first medal of the season. He rolled games of 233 and 203.
Tanner Bahr bowled a 186 game and Carter Hekkema had a 175 game for Reeths-Puffer.
“This was another very nice day for the R-P bowlers,” said R-P head coach Craig Alderink. “I'm very pleased with our second place qualifying effort. We fell behind by 32 pins after the first game of the playoff and had a difficult time catching up. We did finish very strong with a 209 in our last baker playoff game.
“Liam Copenhaver picked up right where he left off after last season by rolling two nice games and had a fantastic second place finish individually.”
