The Reeths-Puffer volleyball team remained above the .500 mark with an easy O-K Green conference over Muskegon on Thursday.
The Rockets won by scores of 25-15, 25-12, 25-10.
They improved their season record to 16-15 overall and 2-5 in the conference standings. The match was also a successful final preparation for Saturday’s Greater Muskegon Athletic Association tournament.
Makayla Disselkoen and Abby Machinski led the R-P attack with 8 and 7 kills, respectively. Kate Tindall had 23 assists and served four aces.

Defensively, Tindall and Carlee Bowen each had four digs.
“The past few weeks have been tough,” said R-P head coach Justin Birr. “Our girls needed this night to regroup and refocus for GMAA on Saturday, and they did just that.
“We started out a little slow with quite a few errors in the first set, but then we settled into our game. I am especially proud of Makayla Disselkoen and Abby Machinski for their offensive performance. They both had great timing, great technique, and they were not afraid to swing hard.”
The Rockets also impressed their coach on Wednesday, despite the fact that they lost to Jenison in another conference match.

The outcome was not surprising, since the Wildcats are ranked in the state.
But the set scores were promising for the Rockets, because they improved as the match went along. R-P lost by scores of 10-25, 15-25, 19-25.
Lexie Danz led R-P with five kills and three aces. Tindall had 10 assists and Bowen had eight digs.
“I'm very proud of how our girls fought hard throughout all three sets,” Birr said about Wednesday's match. “I'm also impressed that we continued to close the gap throughout the night. Our girls can compete with these top-tier teams in the conference, and it showed throughout the night.”
