The Reeths-Puffer tennis team, with a very inexperienced lineup, struggled against Mona Shores on Wednesday, falling 8-0 in an O-K Green conference match.

But the Rockets put up a decent fight in several flights.

Perhaps the most impressive effort came at No. 1 doubles, where Jack Yonkman, an R-P baseball player, competed in his very first varsity tennis match. He teamed with freshman Roman Ponce to give the Sailors duo a battle.

R-P’s No. 2 doubles team of Landon VanderKooi and Zayden Ziotnocki also put up a scrap, falling 6-2, 6-2.

Henrik Ketner won six games at No. 4 singles, falling 6-3, 6-3. Jackson Baldus, at No. 3 singles, lost 6-2, 6-2.

The Rockets will play a non-conference match at Whitehall on Thursday.
