The first-place finish was the third in a row for McCollum, who also took the top stop at the recent Lober Classic tournament, as well as the first O-K Green jamboree.

“Sophia continues to impress with her very solid play,” said R-P Coach Matt Pallett. “She has been fun to watch. She loves to compete. She will have a great opportunity to do just that in some upcoming tournaments.”

As a team, Reeths-Puffer again finished third, shooting a 199 and tying with Caledonia. Byron Center won the event with a 175.eee

Olivia Ambler

R-P junior Olivia Ambler had a good outing, shooting a 48 and finishing in ninth place individually.

Ella Voorhies shot a 56 for the Rockets while Ava Gibbs shot a 58.

“I love the fact that my team is never satisfied and wants to get better,” Pallett said. “I have really challenged this group with a very difficult start to our season. Although a little frustrated with their scores at times, they continue to impress me with their work ethic and mental toughness.”
