Reeths-Puffer’s Jersi Bilek continued her great start to the season by finishing in 12th place and winning a medal at Friday’s Under the Lights Invitational at Grand Rapids South Christian High School.

Bilek posted a time of 19:50 in the very popular event, which included 237 runners in the girls race.

“Breaking into 19s in August has her coach just giddy with excitement!” said R-P Coach Lindsay Keefe. “Bilek has put in a ton of work this summer and she is out there having fun, kicking butt and dropping time!”

As a team, the R-P girls took 13th place with 347 points. Holland Christian took first place.

R-P junior Darcy Keefe cut almost a minute off her time from last year’s race, posting a 23:10 mark and finished 78th.

Junior Kaitlyn Durow finished in 24 minutes flat and placed 103rd.

Senior Charli Belinger, recovering from some health concerns, posted a time of 27:10 and finished finished 169th.

Sophomore Olivia Yonkman set a personal record of 29:01, and has dropped a minute off her time in the past two races. She finished 196th.

Rounding out the runners for the Rockets were senior Hope Latsch (30:46) and senior Maya VandenBosch (32:19). Both have cut two minutes off their times.
