The Reeths-Puffer softball team used two big innings to down Rockford 13-3 on Wednesday in its final tune-up game before Saturday's Division 1 district tournament.

Rockford jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, then R-P took control in the fourth inning with seven runs, including five with two outs.

Tessa Ross singled to center, Mady Snyder followed with a single to left and Kyleigh Bilek singled to score Ross. Brook Buchan hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Snyder, tying the game at 2–2 with one out.

With two outs, Aubrey Clark doubled to center, scoring Bilek. Lorelei Herrygers doubled to right, scoring Clark. Abbie Critchett followed with a hard-hit single to center, scoring Herrygers, and Lainey McDaniel singled, scoring Critchett.

Ross had the last RBI of the inning with a double and R-P led 7-2.

Both teams scored one run in the fifth, then R-P finished the game off by the 10-run mercy rule in the bottom of the sixth.

The inning included singles by Critchett and McDaniel, a walk by Ross and a single by Bilek to score Critchett. Brook Buchan singled to score McDaniel, Olivia Ambler hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Ross, and Clark singled to score Bilek. Brook Buchan then walked it off by scoring on a passed ball.

R-P had 16 total hits. Leaders included Bilek and Critchett with three and McDaniel, Clark and Ross with two.

Snyder pitched the complete game, only allowing five hits, two earned runs, one walk and five strikeouts.

The Rockets finished the regular season with a 22-10 record. They will host Grand Haven on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in the first game of districts, with the winner advancing to the 2 p.m. championship game.
