The Reeths-Puffer boys golf team wrapped up its 2025 season on Wednesday by finishing in 16th place out of 21 teams in the Division 1 regional tournament at Stonegate Golf Club.

The Rockets shot a team score of 359. Forest Hills Northern won the event with a 300 while Mona Shores and Forest Hills Eastern tied for second at 3-5.

All three of those top teams will now advance to the Division 1 state finals.

Reeths-Puffer junior Kristian Brown wrapped up a very good individual season with another strong performance, shooting an 81 on his birthday, good for 31st place in the overall standings.

Aiden Waggoner shot an 84 for the Rockets, followed by Kaeden Benner, Kye Grant and Ayden Hartzell, who all shot rounds of 97.

“The team really never got started today," said R-P head coach Matt Pallett. "Many of our guys got off to slow starts. I am proud of how the guys battled through some of those slow starts and kept fighting.

“Congrats to Coach Volkmann and the Mona Shores Sailors on taking second place today and advancing to the state finals. The Rockets wish them the best of luck.”

The really tough part of the day for Pallett was saying goodbye to the seniors on the team.

“The last event of the season is always tough," he said. "I have a total of five seniors who will be moving on. Ayden Hartzell has been on the team for four years. Aiden Waggoner and Tristan Baker have been in the program for three years. Jamie Neel joined the program for the last two years and Kye Grant came out and made the team this year.

" I am appreciative of all of my seniors. They are a lot of fun to be around and will truly be missed.”
