The Reeths-Puffer baseball team competes in a very challenging conference, and the last few weeks against strong O-K Green opponents have been tough.for the Rockets.
R-P dropped a doubleheader to state-ranked Jenison on Tuesday, extending its conference losing streak to eight games.
The Rockets got great pitching in the opener, which kept the game close. Colton Bessinger tossed six innings, surrendering only five hits with two walks, then Brayden Mitchelson pitched one scoreless inning, striking out one and allowing one hit and one walk.
But R-P couldn't muster much offense and the Wildcats grabbed a 2-0 victory.

Game 2 was more one-sided, with Jenison winning 13-2.
Mitchelson and Alderink each had a hit for R-P. Alderink and Jayden Wiseman both drove in one run.
The Rockets will visit Jenison for the third game of the series on Thursday.
