Reeths-Puffer junior Mason Darke had a big day on Friday, winning two event championships and earning All-Conference honors at the annual O-K Green Conference Finals track meet at Jenison High School.

Darke won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.61 and the 200-meter hurdles with a time of 39.07.

He was one of three R-P athletes who won conference championships at the meet, and one of five to win All-Conference honors.rrr

The winners of each event were automatically All-Conference, along with those who scored eight or more points for their team at the meet.

Also taking first and winning championships in their events for R-P were Kamarion Davis in the boys long jump (20 feet, 9 inches) and Raquel Walker in the girls long jump (18 feet, 2 inches).

Others winning All-Conference honors were Marvin Moore in the boys competition and Addison Mitchelson in the girls competition.

In the boys final team standings, Reeths-Puffer finished fifth out of six teams with 69 points. Byron Center won with 166 points.

Other R-P boys winning medals by finishing in the top eight of their events were Cole Piper in the 100-meter dash (sixth place), Rodney Walker in the 110-meter hurdles (fifth place), Evan McHugh in the 300-meter hurdles (eighth place), Dalton Radosa in the shot put competition (seventh place) and Moore in the 200-meter dash (second place).

R-P boys relay teams winning medals were the 4x100 squad of London Rankin, Moore, Emcee McLaurin and Piper (fourth place); the 4x200 team of Rankin, Moore, Darke and Piper (second place); the 4x400 team of Moore, Ethan Rolewicz, Rankin and Darke (third place) and the 4x800 team of Matthew Grimard, Samuel Perez, Dylan Sturr and Jonathan Visscher (fifth place).

In the girls final team standings, R-P finished in fifth place with 52 points. Byron Center took first with 167.5 points.

Mitchelson and Walker finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 100-meter dash. Walker finished second in the 200-meter dash and Mitchelson was sixth.

Also winning a medal was R-P's Jersi Bilek, who took second place in the 800-meter run.

R-P's girls relay teams winning medals were the 4x100-meter team of Walker, Mitchelson, Amani Starr and Melana Johnson (second place); the 4x200 team of Ivanna Kass, Ma'Kaia Riley-McGuffey, Rhylie McBride and Azzy Gordon (fifth place); the 4x400 team of Darcy Keefe, Riley-McGuffey, Kass and Bilek (fifth place); and the 4x800 team of Keefe, Sophia McCollum, Adrienne Fluette and Charli Belinger (fifth place).
