On the surface, it just seemed like another fourth place finish for the Reeths-Puffer boys golf team at the fourth O-K Green conference jamboree on Tuesday at Lincoln Golf Club.
But the scores reveal that the Rockets actually came pretty close to the top of the standings.
They finished with 164 team points, only six shots behind first-place Caledonia (158) and coming even closer to Byron Center (159) and Mona Shores (160).
The Rockets placed three golfers among the top 15 individuals.
R-P's Kristian Brown, who took fifth place individually.
Kristian Brown took fifth place overall with a 39, Aiden Waggoner was ninth with a 40 and Kaeden Benner was 15th with a 42.
Ayden Hartzell shot a 43 for R-P while Jamie Neel shot a 48 and Kye Grant came in at 49.
The team with host its own Rocket Invitational at Lincoln on Friday.
“I am loving how my guys are competing," said R-P head coach Matt Pallett. "We are so close to having some really good individual and team rounds together.
“I always love how my guys are not satisfied with their performance. We are looking forward to the Rocket Invite to show how much we have improved.”
