Wednesday was a pretty good day for Reeths-Puffer golfer Kristian Brown, who shot an 18-hole score of 87 and finished seventh individually at the O-K Green Midseason Tournament at The Meadows at Grand Valley State University.

The day wasn’t so great for the R-P team, however. The Rockets, who trended upward in the standings at the last conference meet, shot a combined score of 377, which put them last out of five teams at the event.

Mona Shores took first place with a score of 322.eee

Kye Grant shot a 96 for the Rockets, followed by Kaeden Benner and Aiden Waggoner, who both shot a 97. Ayden Hartzell came in a 105 and Jamie Neel shot a 107.

“Today was not our day,” said R-P head coach Matt Pallett. “Everyone really struggled to get used to the firmness and speed of the greens. We left a lot of shots out on the greens today.

“A number of guys struggled early. A bright spot is how they kept things positive and took each of the next holes as a new challenge.

“I like this team. I feel we have not put our best golf out there yet. We will continue to work hard in practice. We will practice with a purpose. We will get better and it will show in future events.”
