The Reeths-Puffer girls tennis team made it two wins in three matches this week with a dominant 7-1 victory over Kenowa Hills on Thursday in non-conference action.

The Rockets won three of the four singles matches and swept all four doubles matches. All seven of the R-P victories were in straight sets.

Winning in singles were Hope Latsch (No. 2), Molly Matz (No. 3) and Mylie Neel (No. 4).

R-P's Olivia Smith made it close at No. 1 singles, losing her first set, winning the second, then losing the tiebreaker 10-7.

R-P's No. 1 doubles team of Malaina Eilers and Gabrielle Borgeson.

The Rockets' No. 1 doubles combination of Gabrielle Borgeson and Malaina Eilers defeated their opponents 6-0, 6-0.

Also winning in doubles were Lauren Matz and Elana Weiden (No. 2), Ava Dietz and Kaitlyn Darow (No. 3) and Maddie Hutchison and Makayla Smith (No. 4).

"It was a perfect day for a lift off, when many players implemented 'newer' strategies following a productive practice on Wednesday," said R-P head coach Ryan Hankinson.

The Rockets improved to 7-6-2 on the season. They will compete in a tournament in Ludington on Saturday.
