Several Reeths-Puffer track and field athletes performed well at Saturday's Ram Classic Invitational at Rockford High School.

Tops among them was junior Mason Darke, who had a record-setting day.

Darke finished second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.23 seconds. He also finished second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 38.23 seconds.

His time in the 300-meter hurdles was a new R-P school record.

"Mason Darke performed at a very high level in all of his events, helping to elevate his teammates," said R-P track coach Parker Aerts. "Darke established himself as one of the all-time greats in school history."

The Reeths-Puffer boys 4x200-meter relay team - London Rankin, Marvin Moore, Darke and Cole Piper - finished fourth with a time of 1:31.58.

The R-P boys finished 10th in the 12-team final standings with 27 points. Northville won the competition with 115.5 points.

In the girls meet, R-P's Jersi Bilek finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:24.12.

"Jersi Bilek has her eyes set on the 800-meter school record this season, and hopes to finish the season with a sub 2:20 mark," Aerts said.

The girls 4x100-meter relay team - Ivana Kass, Addison Mitchelson, Ma'Kaia Riley-McGuffey and Melana Johnson - finished in fifth place with a time of 52.61. The team performed well despite missing one of its top runners who was out with an injury.

The R-P girls finished in 12th place in the final team standings with nine points. Rockford took first place with 157 points.
