The Reeths-Puffer boys tennis team is kicking off its season against a bunch of tough opponents, and so far the results have been so-so.
The Rockets took on always-strong North Muskegon on Friday in a non-conference dual match and fell 5-3.
The biggest trouble came in singles, where R-P lost all three of the matches that were played.
The best singles match came at No. 2, where Quinn Alderink put up a good fight before falling to North Muskegon’s Kaden Bartolameolli 6-1, 3-6, 10-8.

The Rockets were more successful in doubles, winning two of four matches.
R-P’s Cade Paugh and Holden Earnest (No. 1 doubles) beat NM’s Logan Stack and Carter Mieler, 6-2, 7-6.
Preston Singleton and Jackson Baldus (No. 3 singles) downed North Muskegon’s Bobby Gaston and Sean McManus 6-1, 6-4.
Reeths-Puffer will next compete on Tuesday against several different teams at Zeeland East High School.
