The Reeths-Puffer boys golf team took a bit of a step back at the fourth O-K Green Conference Jamboree of the season on Wednesday, but two Rockets still performed well and finished in the top 10 in the individual standings.

The Rockets finished fourth as a team with a score of 182. Mona Shores won the team competition with a 166.

R-P also finished fourth in each of the first two conference jamborees, but then moved up to third place (actually tied for second before the tiebreaker) in the third event.

Returning to fourth place made Coach Matt Pallett think about the things the Rockets need to address going forward.

“We need to find ways to get more pars,” Pallett said. “Hitting greens in regulation, getting up and down and no more than two putts will continue to be our focus in practice.”

Pallett was pleased with the play of Dylan Panozzo and Kristian Brown.

Panozzo shot a team-leading 42 and placed fifth in the individual standings. Brown shot a 43 and finished eighth.

“Dylan and Kristian both played well tonight,” Pallett said. “It’s great to see them finish in the top 10 individually in the last two league events. Even better is their best golf yet to come.”

Aiden Waggoner was third on the team with a 48, followed by Ayden Harzell (49), Jake Lee (53) and Beckett Mathes (58).

The Rockets will host the fifth O-K Green Jamboree next Tuesday at Lincoln Golf Club.
