The Reeths-Puffer softball team was in real danger of suffering its first loss of the season on Thursday night.

The Rockets trailed Allendale 5-3 with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning with darkness closing in.

But Kyleigh Bilek smoked a double and advanced to third base on a wild pitch. Abbie Critchett drew a walk that put runners on the corners. Critchell stole second and Bilek stole home on the same play, pulling the Rockets within a run.

Then Critchett scored on an error, leaving R-P and Allendale tied 5-5 as darkness overtook the field and the score became final.
