The Reeths-Puffer boys golf team is looking to improve after finishing in fourth place at Wednesday’s first O-K Green Conference Jamboree at The Mines Golf Course in Grand Rapids.

The Rockets finished with a team score of 192, 16 shots behind first-place Mona Shores.

Leading the Rockets for the second straight event this season was sophomore Kristian Brown, who shot a 44, highlighted by a birdie on the fourth hole. He finished eighth overall in the individual standings.

“Kristian Brown played well tonight,” said R-P Coach Matt Pallett. “He had one bad hole but showed the mental toughness to not let that bother him. He is close to putting some really good rounds together.”

Aiden Waggoner shot a 47 for the Rockets, followed by Ayden Hartzell (49), Jake Lee (52), Beckett Mathes (54) and Calvin Schlee (56).

“I like the fact that our team was not happy about a fourth place showing,” Pallett said. “There is a lot of balance in our league this year. We believe that we can be good enough to compete.”
