The Reeths-Puffer hockey team roared back from a big deficit to beat Caledonia 6-3 on Saturday and keep its division championship hopes alive.

The Rockets fell behind the Fighting Scots 3-0 but responded with three unanswered goals in the second period and three more in the third.

Tyler Tindall led the way with two goals and an assist.

Caledonia outshot the Rockets 16-7 in the first period and scored three times.

Instead of panicking, Reeths-Puffer roared back in the second period with three goals of its own, from Tyler Tindall, Avery Freeland and Ayden Hartzell.

R-P kept that momentum and stole with victory with three more goals in the third period, from Tindall, Eli Cuti and Jaxon Stone.

Goalie Mark Stewart got the win in net.

Stone finished with two assists while Tindall, Trenton Hanks, Bucky Aney, Tyler Cuti and Croix Klint each had one.

"We have played well the last couple of games, getting a lot of scoring, and I think we just expected it to happen early in this game,” said R-P Coach Dustin Langlois. “We started to drift away from the game plan in the first period. Our coaches were able to calm them down and get back to playing Reeths-Puffer style hockey.

“When we play our style of game we make it tough for other teams to play against us. We have some things to tweak, but our coaching staff if excited about where we are at!"

Reeths-Puffer improved to 6-1 in the O-K conference Fischer Division standings.

First-place Sparta is 8-1 and the Rockets need to keep winning to eventually gain at least a tie for the division title.

R-P has two conference games remaining, against East Kentwood and Kenowa Hills.
