Senior Jaxson Whitaker had his three-point magic working again on Friday.

The Reeths-Puffer standout scored 29 points, including six triples in the first half, to lead the Rockets to a 73-35 road victory over Wyoming in conference action.

The Rockets have now won seven straight games and haven’t lost in more than a month.

R-P improved to 10-1 overall on the season and 4-0 in O-K Green conference play.

Reeths-Puffer took control right away, outscoring Wyoming 24-8 in the first quarter and racing to a 44-13 halftime lead. R-P had a 21-6 edge in the third quarter.

“It was the third straight game we have held an opponent under 35 points,” said R-P Coach Nate Aardema. “Our defense has set us up for success in each game.” 

Whitaker added seven assists to his big night. Travis Ambrose finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks while Marvin Moore added seven points and three assists.

Brayden Mitchelson grabbed 11 rebounds for the Rockets.

Reeths-Puffer will host Zeeland East on Tuesday in another conference clash.
