The Reeths-Puffer boys basketball team used a 37-7 first half advantage to cruise to a 62-30 road victory over O-K Green conference foe Holland on Tuesday night.

After jumping out to a 17-6 first quarter lead, the Rockets outscored Holland 20-1 in the second quarter.

“It was a great defensive effort,” said Reeths-Puffer head coach Nate Aardema about limiting Holland to one point over eight minutes. “That set the tone for us in the first half. We showed some maturity as a team by focusing on being our best tonight coming off a big win and leading to another big game on Friday.”

In the third quarter, Reeths-Puffer outscored Holland 19-13 to make the score 56-20 before cruising to victory in the fourth quarter.

Antrel Jones led the Rockets with a complete game, finishing with 10 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Travis Ambrose finished with 17 points and six rebounds while Jaxson Whitaker totaled 15 points and seven assists. 

Brayden Mitchelson had a strong night with eight points and six rebounds.

The Rockets, now 8-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play, will visit Muskegon (6-0, 2-0) on Friday in a big O-K Green matchup.
