The Reeths-Puffer competitive cheer team overcame last minute player changes and illness issues to finish fourth at the Cedar Springs Invitational on Saturday.

The Rockets did well in Round 1 (execution), scoring 226.3, which was a 10-point improvement from the previous competition. They also improved in Round 2 (overall skills) with 215 points, with promising freshmen Malia McGuffey and Korynn Griffin contributing.

The Rockets had to use some last-minute replacements in Round 3 (stunts), but still managed to get their best score of the day, an even 300.

R-P totaled 736.3 points. Cedar Springs won the championship.

"The collective team came through and began to see how strong, dedicated and durable they are as a team," said R-P Coach Lisabeth Smith. "They’re fighting hard and improving each week!"
