Three Reeths-Puffer wrestlers won championships in their respective weight classes on Saturday, helping the Rockets finish second at the Adam Provencal Memorial Tournament at Grand Haven High School.

R-P finished with 174.5 points, just ahead of third-place Grand Haven, which had 174. St. Joseph won the 14-team tournament with 201.5 points.

R-P's Jake Rozycki (120 pounds), Ian Cook (132) and Owen Schab (165) finished first in their weight classes.

Nathan Stafford (heavyweight) and Sage Secrest (190) both finished as runners-up while Arin Maynard was third at 106 pounds.

Nathan Reeves was fifth at 157 and Max Knowlton was sixth at 113.

“So happy and proud of Owen, Jake and Ian for winning their respective brackets,” said R-P Coach Jared Fleming. “Jake and Ian both won this tournament last year, as well, so they've been here before and really wrestled well to earn that today.

“Owen Schab was the surprise on the day. He worked his way through a toss-up bracket, securing pins in his final two matches. He hasn't won a tournament in his career and this was a perfect opportunity and he seized it. He's a come-from-behind king and he did that in his finals match today. After going down 5-0 he came back to get a pin in 1:23.”

Part of the R-P squad traveled to Ravenna to compete in the Lloyd Cogswell Memorial Tournament on Saturday.

The Rockets finished fourth with 99 points. Lakeview won the team title with 210 points.
