High-scoring forward Tyler Tindall heated on up Saturday, posting two goals to help the Reeths-Puffer hockey team snap a two-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over Hudsonville.

After a scoreless first period, Tindall got the Rockets on the board just 1:47 into the second frame, with assists from Eli Cuti and Connor Stawski.

R-P’s Avery Freeland followed up with a goal about two minutes later, with an assist from Hayden Taylor, giving the Rockets a 2-0 lead.

Tindall struck again with about six minutes left in the period, putting R-P up 3-0. Cuti and Stawski got their second assists.

Ayden Hartzell finished off the second-period explosion when he found the net with 1:18 left on the clock, with an assist from Ricky Wiggins.

Hudsonville scored its lone goal on a power play midway through the third period.

R-P head coach Dustin Langlois, who watched his team commit a lot of penalties in losses to West Ottawa and Plymouth this week, said the Rockets again spent too much time in the penalty box, but overall performed much better.

“We got into penalty trouble again,” Langlois said. “While we are definitely a very talented team, our discipline is what is hurting us the most right now. But we got back to the basics.

“We played simple, smart hockey and got pucks on net. We have to clean up a couple things, but we are getting better each game.”

The Rockets are now 2-2 on the season.
