GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

The Reeths-Puffer girls cross country team had a strong showing on Wednesday, finishing third in an O-K Green Conference Jamboree at Paw Paw Park in Holland.

The Rockets totaled 98 points, behind first-place Zeeland East with 23 points and Zeeland West with 49 points.

Sophomore Jersi Bilek led Reeths-Puffer with a time of 20:48.70 and took seventh place in the individual standings.

Junior Adrienne Fluette finished 21st overall with a time of 22:52.40.

Freshman Gabrielle Chevez was 24th with a time of 23:03.40 while freshman Darcy Keefe was 30th with a time of 23:32.20.

Freshman Kaitlyn Durow was 43rd overall with a time of 25:09.90.

“The ladies really had to really pay attention to their place,” said R-P Coach Lindsay Keefe about her team’s performance against tough competition. “They also needed to check in on where some of our close competitors were. They had to pass and hold their positions in order to get third, and they did.”
