The Reeths-Puffer boys cross country team finished fourth with a total of 112 points on Wednesday at an O-K Green Conference Jamboree at Paw Paw Park in Holland.

“At first, it may look like our team result was horrible,” said Rocket head coach Darin Grant. “But with the injuries and sickness we’re dealing with, I thought the guys ran well.”

Senior Jaxon Allen led the Rockets with a time of 17:07.80, which was good for second place individually. Senior Tate Bradley finished eighth overall with a time of 17:55.10.

Sophomore Dylan Sturr finished 42nd overall with a time of 20:14.05 while sophomore Jack Yonkman was 44th with a time of 20:20.90.

Junior Gage Bouwman rounded out the Rockets with a time of 21:55.60 for 68th place overall.

Grant says his team is about to get healthy at the right time of the season.

“I would rather get all of this done now than deal with it during the championship season,” the coach said.
