R-P tennis team

The Reeths-Puffer boys tennis team picked up two O-K Green Conference victories this week, defeating Grand Rapids Union 7-1 on Monday and Wyoming 8-0 on Wednesday.

R-P Coach Ryan Hankinson noted that his team has progressed to the point where it can get easy wins over developing programs, and thinks his players are ready for bigger challenges.

“As a coach, I couldn’t be prouder,” said Hankinson, who added that the Rockets won 142 games against the two opponents while losing only 19. “We used to be there, and I’m happy that we’re respectful and kind, but yet take care of business. Now we get to see how we fare against multiple teams with just as much talent or more than us.”

No. 1 singles Quinn Alderink, No. 3 singles Cory Judd and No. 4 singles Cade Paugh all won two matches while No. 2 singles Adam Miller won one.

The Rockets will next be in action on Thursday at home against Whitehall.
