The Reeths-Puffer volleyball team has started to play better in the last few weeks, and the result is showing in the Rockets’ conference record.

R-P travelled to Grand Rapids Union on Tuesday night and posted an easy 3-0 victory over the Red Hawks, with none of the sets being very close.

The Rockets won by scores of 25-10, 25-13 and 25-10.

The Reeths-Puffer offense was a group effort. Alissa Klopp led the way with six kills while Maddi Dyer and Mairyn Peterson had four apiece. Dyer also served eight aces and had 10 assists.

R-P's Megan Barmes

Megan Barmes and Mady Snyder each served up six aces.

Defensively, Barmes led the way with 14 digs.

The Rockets are now 3-1 in O-K Green conference play and 5-15-1 overall.

“It was another easy conference win for us,” said R-P Coach Justin Birr. “I am proud of how our girls were vocal and supportive of each other and I'm happy that we got every player some meaningful playing time.

“It has been a slow week for us and we are off on Saturday, so for the next couple days we are going to cheer on our middle school volleyball teams and also help out at their practice. It will be a great way for our varsity girls to give back to the program that helped them throughout the years."
