After a disappointing loss earlier this week that ended a long winning streak, the Reeths-Puffer boys soccer team got rolling again with an impressive 7-1 victory over Wyoming on Thursday in O-K Green action.

The Rockets only led 1-0 at halftime, then turned on the jets with six goals in the second half.

Senior Liam Smith had another huge night, scoring four goals and adding two assists for R-P.

Owen Ritsema and Zac Sampson each had one goal, while Luke Callender also scored on an “aggressive hustle play off a corner kick,” according to R-P Coach Kody Harrell.

Nick Clemens was credited with two assists for Reeths-Puffer while Ritsema and London Carpenter each had one.

Senior goalkeeper Gage Hopkins stopped five of six Wyoming goals.

“I was very excited about how our boys came together tonight,” Harrell said. “The game got really chippy in the second half. I couldn’t believe some of the stuff I was seeing out there, but our boys really game together and backed each other up.

" It was almost like after every hard foul that was committed on us, it led to a goal, so it was a pretty cool feeling to just know how serious the boys take supporting each other and having each other’s backs, especially after a tough loss on the road just two days ago.

“All things considered, with our schedule and our conference, we are really excited about what we have seen and about where we are going with this group.”
