One of these days the Reeths-Puffer girls golf team just might catch and surpass rival Mona Shores.

The Rockets have been creeping closer to the Sailors all season at O-K Green Conference Jamborees.

In the first tournament, the Rockets finished in second place, 13 shots behind Mona Shores. In the second, they finished second again, only four shots behind the Sailors.

Paige Anderson

In the third O-K Green Jamboree on Wednesday, Reeths-Puffer continued its string of runner-up finishes and was six strokes behind Mona Shores.

The Rockets’ team score of 174 was their lowest in the last two seasons.

“After close calls in trying to win the last two, the team is hungry to win our first league jamboree in more than four years,” said R-P Coach Matt Pallett. “I am proud of my girls. They are a great group and I enjoy every moment I am around them. They are working hard and continue to battle to reach our team goals.”

R-P senior Paige Anderson continued her uninterrupted string of great outings this year by finishing third in the individual standings with a score of 37.

Rowan Bluhm

R-P’s Bowan Bluhm was sixth overall with a 41, her best nine-hole score of the year. Her best moment came when her tee shot on the sixth hole came within a foot of going down.

Sophie McCollom was seventh overall with a 42, which was also her season best.

Avery Luna and Olivia Ambler both shot 54 for the Rockets while Abby Haak shot a 60.
