The Reeths-Puffer girls cross country team can see a clear path toward moving up in the O-K Green conference standings.

The Rockets finished fifth out of seven teams with 102 points on Tuesday at the first O-K Green Jamboree of the season at Reeths-Puffer.

But the Rockets were only six points behind third place Mona Shores and two points behind fourth-place Holland. That means they are within shooting distance of third place, behind Zeeland East and Zeeland West, the two conference powerhouses that finished first and second on Tuesday, respectively.

“Working on our individual races let us get some new teams in sight, with Holland and Mona Shores being only 6 points away!” said R-P Coach Lindsay Keefe. “I am excited to help the girls start chasing down specific jerseys so we can work on our team placement! I am very proud of how this team is growing and working together!”

R-P sophomore Jersi Bilek continued her strong start to the season by finishing sixth individually with a time of 21:03. Freshman Gabrielle Chevez took 14th place with a time of 22:50.

Darcy Keefe was 24th overall at 23:38, Adrienne Fluette was 31st at 23:48 and Charli Belinger was 51st with a time of 27:25.
