Reeths-Puffer senior golfer David Grimard set a personal goal to win a medal in a tournament this season, and he achieved it on Wednesday by shooting a round of 85 and tying for eighth place at the O-K Green Conference Championship at the Ravines Golf Club.

Grimard’s round was highlighted by a birdie on the 11th hole.

His performance stood out on a tough day for the Rockets, who finished fifth out of six teams at the final conference event of the season. The Rockets shot a team score of 364. Mona Shores took first place with 319.

Reeths-Puffer, which set a team goal to finish second in the final conference standings, ended up taking third.

Freshman Kristian Brown, who earned All-Conference honors. shot an 86 for the Rockets. Tanner Bonjernoor shot a 96, followed by Dylan Panozzo (97), Ayden Hartzell (99) and Jacob Pierce (104).

Panozzo earned honorable mention All-Conference honors.

“After the poor start to the year, I am proud that the guys put themselves in a position to go for it today,” said R-P Coach Matt Pallet about the Rockets’ attempt to finish second in the league. “Unfortunately, today was not our day.

Reeths-Puffer will compete in regionals on Tuesday at Sunnybrook Country Club.
