R-P boys golf team

After a disappointing performance at their last tournament, the Reeths-Puffer boys golf team put it all together on Wednesday and claimed first place at the final O-K Green conference jamboree of the season at Alpine Golf Course.

The first-place finish was the first for the Rockets this season.

Reeths-Puffer finished with 165 team points, followed by Mona Shores (166), Holland (172), Zeeland West (174) and Zeeland East (183).

R-P's Dylan Panozzo, who finished second overall.

R-P was led by two golfers who have been consistently good for most of the season.

Junior Dylan Panozzo shot a 38 and finished second in the individual standings, one shot behind Zeeland East’s Jace Fenlon.

R-P freshman Kristian Brown shot a 39 and finished third in the individual standings.

Tanner Bonjernoor and Ayden Hartzell each shot a 44 for the Rockets, followed by Mason Cregg (51) and Jake Lee (54).

R-P's Kristian Brown, who finished third overall.

“We have set a goal to place in the top two in the conference,” said R-P Coach Matt Pallett. “Today’s performance gives us the opportunity to do just that at our conference championship on Wednesday.

“Dylan and Kristian played great today. It was also great to see Tanner and Ayden Hartzell play well. After a poor performance on Monday, I feel my guys responded in a big way today.”
