Four members of the Reeths-Puffer girls track team - Melana Johnson, Lainey McDaniel, Jersi Bilek and Brianna Smith - won All-Conference honors by capturing the title in the 4x200-meter relay on Friday at the O-K Green conference championship meet.

Reeths-Puffer’s Liam McHugh and Jaxon Allen also won All-Conference status after placing high in numerous events at the meet.

The girls 4x200 relay team edged out second place Muskegon – 1:49.15/1:49.24 – to claim first place in the event.

Reeths-Puffer’s 4x100 relay team of McDaniel, Johnson, Brianna Smith and Madi Smith - finished third in their event and won medals.

Other medal winners for the R-P girls team were Bella Smith, who took sixth place in the pole vault; Jersi Bilek, who finished fifth in the 800-meter run; and Brianna Smith, who finished third in the 200-meter run.

The Reeths-Puffer girls team finished sixth overall with 34 points. Zeeland East won the girls competition with 247.5 points.

McHugh, who recently won city championships in two events, had another very strong all-around day.

He finished second in the 110-meter hurdles, the 300-meter hurdles and the high jump.  His time of 15.28 in the 110 hurdles was a personal record.

Allen won All-Conference recognition by taking third place in the 800-meter run, fourth place in the 1,600-meter run, being part of R-P’s third place 4x800-meter relay team (with Tate Bradley, Kye Grant and Matt Grimard), and being part of the Rockets’ fourth place 4x400 relay team (with Sage Stiller-Secrest, Tate Bradley and Kye Grant).

Other members of the R-P boys team earning medals were Grant (fourth place in the 800-meter run), and Kameron Coleman, Bryce Ross, Jezsiah Sims and Sage Stiller-Secrest, who finished fifth together in the 4x200-meter relay.

The R-P boys finished in fourth place in the final team standings with 57 points. Zeeland West ran away with the title with 232.5 points.
