R-P only improved slightly on offense, totaling eight hits. Jones led the way at the plate with a single, double and triple. McDaniel had a triple and two singles.

The Rockets are now 15-3 overall and 5-3 in conference play.

“Tonight was not us,” said R-P Coach Sarah Bayle. “We had multiple physical and mental errors and didn’t bring our normal energy and excitement. We beat ourselves tonight.

“This will not define us and our season. There’s a lot of season left and one night will not dictate the outcome of this team.”
