The Reeths-Puffer boys track team had its best day of the season on Thursday, piling up three victories over Muskegon (76-56), Grand Rapids Union (117-15) and Holland (92.5-43.5).

The Rockets’ distance runners provided a lot of points with first place finishes in four different events.

Tate Bradley won the 400-meter run with a personal record time of 2:07.26. Jaxon Allen won the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:01.64.

R-P’s 4x400-meter relay team – Liam McHugh, Caiden Bolduc, Sage Stiller-Secrest and Kye Grant – took first place with a time of 3:39.10.

The 4x800-meter team – Allen, Bradley, Grant and Matt Grimard – did the same with a time of 8:56.46.

R-P’s Patrick Sweet won the discus with a throw of 109 feet, six inches. McHugh took first in the high jump by clearing 6 feet, 2 inches.

The Rockets also collected a lot of valuable points by taking second place in seven events.

Runners-up for the Rockets were Grant (1,600-meter run), McHugh (110-meter hurdles), Sweet (shot put), Ethan Winters (300-meter hurdles), Victor Williams (pole vault) and Lorenzo Graham (long jump).

R-P’s 4x100-meter relay team – Kameron Coleman, Bolduc, Brody Johnson and McHugh) – also finished second.

"The guys ran, jumped, hurdled and threw well,” said R-P boys track coach Don Ketner. “We are trending in the right direction with April ending and Championship May starting up next week with the GMAA (city meet) on Friday.”
