Reeths-Puffer junior Dylan Panozzo shot a career-best 33 on Tuesday, finishing third overall at an O-K Green conference tournament at Indian Trails Golf Club.

His teammates also had a very good day, turning in their best nine-hole performance of the season with a total score of 156, which was good for second place in the seven-team event, six shots behind first-place Mona Shores.

Panozzo’s round was highlighted by two birdies. He finished just one shot behind Mona Shores’ Nicholas Taylor and Zeeland West’s Logan Bomers, who tied for first place.

Kristian Brown shot a 35 for the Rockets, followed by Tanner Bonjernoor (38), Mason Cregg (39), Jacob Pierce (43) and David Grimard (48).

The Rockets will be back in action on Wednesday at another conference meet.

“We played to our potential tonight,” said R-P Coach Matt Pallett.  “Having four guys in the 30s was great today. Even better was hearing each of the guys talk about ways they can improve.

“One challenge of golf is to be consistent. With a match tomorrow we will have to show mental toughness if things don’t always go our way. "
