The Reeths-Puffer baseball team completed a three-game sweep of Muskegon with an easy 16-1 victory on Thursday.

The win comes on the heels of a doubleheader sweep of the Big Reds on Tuesday.

The Rockets exploded for 13 runs in the first inning and added three more in the third in the shortened game.

Four Rockets produced two hits in the game, led by Chase Smith with a triple and a double. Brayden Mitchelson, Landyn Wilson and Holden Earnest also had two hits.

R-P's Chase Smith, who had two hits and knocked in four runs. 

Smith and Mitchelson each knocked in four runs.

David Wilhelm and Jack Yonkman split the pitching duties for the Rockets. They combined for eight strikeouts without giving up a hit.

R-P Coach Butch Attig is happy with his team’s approach so far this season. The Rockets are now 5-0 overall and 3-0 in O-K Green conference play.

“Our attention to detail and focus has been important, especially as we head into the core of our schedule,” Attig said.

Reeths-Puffer will return to action in a tournament on Saturday at Holton High School.
