Kyle Brainard scored five goals and added an assist to lead the Reeths-Puffer lacrosse team to a 14-8 victory over East Kentwood on the road in its season opener on Thursday.

The Rockets shared the ball effectively, resulting in scoring chances for a lot of players.

Kyle Huff added three goals and two assists for the Rockets, Carson Cooper had two goals and one assist, Connor Stawski scored twice, and Seth Parker and Bruce Latsch both had single tallies.

JT Fansler helped set up a lot of the offense with three assists.

Reeths-Puffer goalie Gavin Wright was strong between the pipes while Gage Hopkins and Ian Wright performed well defensively.
