USE OF DISTRICT FACILITIES

The Board of Education encourages the utilization of District buildings and the District grounds by properly organized and responsible groups. Such use of any District facility or grounds will not interfere with the daily school student routine or any school sponsored student activity. A Facility Use Form must be submitted five days in advance of any activity. Complete a Facility Request Form online.

PANDEMIC INFLUENZA

Pandemic influenza is a global outbreak caused by a new influenza virus. It is different from seasonal influenza (or "the flu"). The timing and consequences of pandemic influenza are difficult to predict. Visit the Muskegon County Health Department for more helpful information.

HEALTH INSURANCE AVAILABLE FOR UNINSURED CHILDREN

There are more than 127,000 uninsured children in Michigan. Most of them are eligible right now for one of the state's two health insurance plans for kids - MIChild or Healthy Kids. A state-wide campaign has been launched to enroll as many uninsured children as possible in one of these plans. Enrolling a child is fast and simple, and the most any family will pay is $10 a month. Enrollment can be done on the Internet or by telephone. Get the MIChild Brochure and follow the instructionsor dial 2-1-1. A child who gets health care in the right place at the right time is better prepared to learn and less likely to develop serious, costly medical conditions.

DOUBLE UP FOOD BUCKS

Attention Bridge Card Holders: Double Up Food Bucks will be back at your area's farmers' markets starting in June. When you use your Bridge Card at a participating farmers' market, the Double Up Food Bucks program will match you dollar for dollar with bonus funds - up to $20 - that you can use in the market to buy more fresh, Michigan-grown fruits and vegetables. It's that simple - spend up to $20 on your Bridge Card at the market, and you'll get up to $20 more, free, to spend on healthy, local foods. Most farmers' markets and some on-farm produce stands in Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon Counties are participating.
