CLASS OF 2010

TOP TEN GRADUATES

Reeths-Puffer High School Class of 2010 is proud to be graduating two seniors ranked number 1 in the class. Valedictorian and Salutatorian were selected by ACT and MME test scores, in accordance with the Reeths-Puffer High School handbook policy.

ANGELA BEDOYA

ANGELA BEDOYA

Valedictorian of the Reeths-Puffer High School Class of 2010 is Angela Bedoya. Angela is the daughter of Eduardo and Barbara Bedoya. She has a weighted grade point average of 4.17. Angela has been involved in the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, First Priority, SADD and the Spanish Club. She was an Academic Honoree for Showcase 2010 and has been honored for her leadership with Student Ambassadors. Angela plans to attend the University of Michigan in the fall to study Nuclear Medicine.

JAMES COLE

JAMES COLE

Salutatorian of the Reeths-Puffer High School Class of 2010 is James Cole. He is the son of Gail and Jacqueline Cole. James has a weighted grade point average of 4.16. He has been involved in the National Honor Society, earned All-State Academics in Swimming, All Conference in Tennis, and been on the Soccer and Track teams. He has earned honors in Science Olympiad and been active in his Church Youth Group. James plans to attend the University of Michigan in the fall to pursue a career Nuclear Engineering or Materials Science.

JOSEPH STERRITT

JOSEPH STERRITT

Graduating number 2 in the Class of 2010 is Joseph Sterritt. Joseph is the son of Kathy and Steve Collins and Joe Sterritt. He has a weighted grade point average of 4.16. Joe has participated in the National Honor Society, been involved in Frist Priority, was Captain of the Varsity Hockey team for two years, played Varsity Golf, was active in Science Olympiad and the Michigan Math League. He has earned All Academics All State. Joseph plans to attend Muskegon Community College in the fall then transfer to Lake Superior State University to pursue a Pharmacy degree.

KAYLA KOLBE

Kayla Kolbe is graduating number 4 in the Class of 2010. She is the daughter of Mark and Lisa Kolbe. She has a weighted grade point average of 4.11. Kayla has been involved in the National Honor Society, First Priority, played Soccer and has been Captain of the Volleyball team. Kayla plans to attend Grand Valley State University this fall to pursue a career in either Nursing or Elementary Education.

Benjamin Daunais, son of David and Jane Daunais, is graduating number 5 in the Class of 2010. He has a weighted grade point average of 4.09. Ben has been active in the National Honor Society, S.T.A.T.S (Straight Talk About Tough Stuff), Marching band, Wind Ensemble and the Pep Band. Ben plans to attend Ferris State University this fall to pursue a Pharmacy degree.

Erin Caughey, daughter of Jon and Joann Caughey, is graduating number 6 in this year's class with a weighted grade point average of 4.08. She has participated in varsity Soccer, Basketball and Volleyball, is a member of the National Honor Society, the Psychology Club and is layout Editor of the school newspaper, R-Point. Erin plans to attend Marquette University in the fall to study Journalism and Photojournalism.

Graduating number 7 in the Class of 2010 is Justin Cartwright. Justin is the son of Tom and Sara Cartwright. He has a weighted grade point average of 4.06. Justin played Varsity Soccer, earning All Conference, All District and All-Area and was Captain of the Swim Team for 4 years earning Academic All-State and MVP. He was also involved in First Priority and Science Olympiad. Justin plans to attend either Albion College or Wartburg College this fall to earn a degree in Physics.

EMILY SWAIN

EMILY SWAIN

Emily Swain is graduating number 8 in this year's class. She is the daughter of Brad and Korinne Swain. Emily has a weighted grade point average of 4.05. She has been on the varsity Soccer team, serving as team Captain and earning All-District, All-Conference and All-Area. As a member of the National Honor Society she has volunteered for the Salvation Army, Thanksgiving Turkey Run and the Blood Drive. Emily was instrumental in organizing the 1st Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Soccer Game at R-PHS and has also been chosen as Student of the Month. She plans to attend Western Michigan University in the fall to study Speech Pathology and Audiology with an emphasis in Elementary Education.

Killian Barry, daughter of Brandon and Daphne Barry, is number 9 in this year's class. She has a weighted grade point average of 4.024. Killian has been on the R-P Athletic Council for 4 years. She played Varsity Basketball for 4 years, was team Captain for 3 years, and earned All-Conference 2 years. She has also played on the Varsity Soccer team and been chosen as Student of the Month. She has been a member of the National Honor Society, volunteering for the Blood Drive and youth basketball and soccer. Killian plans to attend Michigan State University this fall to study Kinesiology to become a Physical Therapist or to study Education

JACOB LUBBERS

JACOB LUBBERS

Jacob Lubbers is graduating 10th in the Class of 2010. He is the son of Dale and Laurie Lubbers. Jacob has a weighted grade point average of 4.021. He has been Drum Major for the R-P Marching Band, played in the Pit Orchestra for the spring Musicals, and been in Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble. Jacob was selected to perform in the 2009 Bands of America Tournament of Roses Honor Band. He has also been active in First Priority, National Honor Society, STATS (Straight Talk About Tough Stuff), and his church Youth Group. Jacob plans to attend Central Michigan University this fall to study Music Education and Spanish.
