Impromptu Food Drive

The following message is from Reeths-Puffer Elementary School's Social Worker Mrs. Sherrie Foster.

Twice this week I had to go in our Food Pantry at our school.  It breaks my heart when I even need to make the trip there.  When I looked at our shelves it didn’t help how I was feeling. We had zero jars of peanut butter and one jar of jelly.  Zero jars of spaghetti sauce, lots of Tuna Helper but zero cans of tuna.  Our biggest needs are items that don’t require other ingredients...like if you get Mac and Cheese do the Kraft or Velveeta with the cheese pouch (often these very poor families won’t have milk and butter left by the time their shelves are empty).  Consider Almond Milk (1.79) that doesn’t require refrigeration until opened.

This is the Meijer ad that starts tomorrow. Would you consider donating any of these items?  Pick up a couple extra items?

We are well stocked on canned veggies, but any of these pictured items would be great!  Toilet paper, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce or any snack that your child or grandchild/niece/nephew/loves are our greatest needs right now. Thank you for considering. 💚

As a result of this post, items and donations immediately came flooding in!  Thank you to everyone that continues to support our children, families and our school!

You are all amazing.
