Halloween Costume Guidelines

Good Afternoon RPI Families,

We wanted to reach out to offer some guidelines for Halloween Costumes for this year.  We want to promote the students to participate and encourage them to do so, considering these guidelines are followed:

  • Blow up costumes are not encouraged.  While students may wear them, they will not be allowed to be blown up during school as it causes a distraction to teaching and learning.

  • The normal school dress code will be enforced. As is typical, we will not allow male or female students to wear low cut tops, bare midriffs, and/or tank tops.

  • NO spandex is to be worn without anything over it. NO clothing that has holes in it may be worn without anything under it.

  • NO masks or other face coverings (excluding paint) will be allowed.

  • Nothing is to be brought to school that has a possibility of staining (dye, make-up, face paint, hair color spray, etc.), but these things may be worn if put on at home.

  • NO “look-alike” or fake weapons are allowed in any manner.

  • Costumes containing sexual innuendos, or those promoting alcohol, drugs, violence, or anything construed to be offensive in nature, will not be allowed.

  • For their own safety, students should avoid wearing costumes that drag on the floor.

  • Roller blades, skates, scooters, skateboards or any other type of propelling equipment is disallowed.

  • Hats and sweatshirt hoods may be worn that day, provided they can be identified as part of the costume only.  Teachers retain every right to ask them to be removed in class and/or during learning.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Have a great week everyone!

Mr. Panozzo
