Central Elementary proudly introduces the Rocket Shop, new for the 2019-2020 school year. The Rocket Shop is a schoolwide initiative designed to better promote, recognize, acknowledge, and celebrate the Rocket Way on Display!

The Rocket Shop aligns with our PBIS system that centers on teaching expectations and reinforcing positive behavior to make school safer and more supportive of learning. While students will still earn Rocket Slips for demonstrating Respect, Pride, and Integrity, the Rocket Shop allows them to use those tickets at the school store for a variety of reward choices. These range from small trinket options such as pencils, stickers, and plastic toys, to certificate options such as Lunch with the Principal, Extra Recess, and Librarian Helper, to name a few.

Rocket Slips used for rewards will be stamped with a rocket-shaped hole punch and returned to students, allowing them to continue posting their celebratory moments on their lockers or on the refrigerator at home!

The Rocket Shop is almost exclusively student-led and operated. Throughout the year, your child will have a say in what types of individual and class rewards make their way into the Rocket Shop for students to earn. Additionally, data will be collected and reviewed throughout the year to help us determine targets for improvement specific to our behavior expectations (Respect, Pride, Integrity) and locations throughout the building.

The Rocket Shop was introduced to students this week, and has already generated tremendous excitement. Please join us in supporting and celebrating Respect, Pride, and Integrity.

Our students will have a blast this year showing the Rocket Way!
