7th Graders Get the “W” vs. Grand Haven
The 7th graders jumped out to a quick lead against the host Bucs and never looked back. Grand Haven was not able to handle the defensive pressure that was led by the trio of Chloe Brainard, Kyleigh Bilek and Savannah Lockwood as those three harassed the Bucs back-court by capturing eleven steals between them. Kiera Ketner, Jenna Terpstra and Madison Hutchinson added in five more to hold Grand Haven to 24 points total. Bilek and Mya Swain controlled the boards with the help of stellar defense by Madison Ingersoll down low. Jenna Terpstra led all scorers in the game with twenty points. Brainard and Bilek offered support on offense with six and four respectively while Maddilynn Dyer, Lockwood, Hutchinson and Swain all chipped in buckets of their own. It was a superb team win for the girls against a very well-coached host squad at Lakeshore gym.
