7th Graders Get Their First Road Win
After a long bus ride, the 7th grade girls came out flat against the host Dux and fell behind 10-0. The team hung together and slowly battled back thanks to tough team defense and execution down the stretch to seal a 33-27 victory. The Rockets were led in scoring by Mya Swain with 19 points. Jenna Terpstra and Kyleigh Bilek also contributed big buckets in the offense. Terpstra iced the game at the free-throw line in the closing minute to preserve the “W.” Leading the charge on the defensive end was the hustle of Bilek and the quick hands of Chloe Brainard. Swain, Dani Balaskovitz and Madison Ingersoll worked hard on the boards. It will be back to the grind for the Rockets as they gear up for cross-town rival Muskegon on Monday.
