Welcome to my profile page!

Hello, My name is Melanie Worthing.  I am one of the Title 1 Reading Specialists here at McMillan.  You might remember me as Ms. Arends from last year.  I got married to my husband Jason over summer break.  We live in Ravenna with our two dogs Daisy and Lilly. 

My Teaching Experience

This is my second year teaching at McMillan Elementary.  Prior to coming to the Reeths-Puffer School District, I spent some time teaching second grade in Wickenburg, Arizona and First Grade in Las Vegas, Nevada.  While teaching in Las Vegas I also had the opportunity to teach professional development courses to teachers. 

My Education 

I graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelors degree in child development.  I also received my masters degree in reading from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

My Interests

I love spending time with my family and friends, running, reading, taking my dogs for hikes, and teaching children to read!
