Focus Group Meetings
As stated in the Rocket Review and on our web site, Reeths-Puffer Schools, like many schools in Michigan, is experiencing a budget crisis. Focus group meetings will be held in March to help identify potential reductions in budget through cuts or efficiencies. These focus groups will be made up of staff, parents, board members, administration, and members of the community.
The meetings will be held as follows:
March 2, March 4, March 9, March 11, March 16, March 18, March 22 and March 25. Meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be held in the Educational Services Building, 991 W. Giles Road.
March 5, 9:30 a.m. and March 12, 1:00 p.m. also in the Educational Services Building, 991 W. Giles Road.
You need only to attend one meeting. Meetings will last for approximately 1.5 hours.
The following steps will taken at the focus group meeting: 1. Brainstorm possible cuts/efficiencies 2. Estimate savings 3. Evaluate the impact on our core mission of teaching and learning. 4. Rank the cuts in terms of priority in the reduction process.
For planning purposes, if you are interested in participating in a Focus Group Meeting, please contact Margie at batesm@reeths-puffer.org or by calling 719-3104 to let her know which date you would like to attend.
Thank you for your interest. |
