Middle School Robotics Team
The Robotics Team is a team competition. This year, the club members applied for and secured a grant from Verizon. Mr. Tim Smith, Director Customer Operations at Verizon and a Reeths-Puffer Board Member, awarded a $1,000 check to assist with the expenses. The team made it to state, which is impressive as this is only their second year of competition.
The goal of the Robotics Team is to help students have a deeper understanding of how science, math and technology are used in the real world. One group of students builds and programs robots to complete tasks necessary for competition. Another group, (research group) gathers information for a presentation. Three students from the research group present information as a different part of competition.
Below are pictures from last years (2006-2007) competition. Reeths-Puffer students did a great job their first year in competition and are already excited about next year.
