Seniors should be getting their college applications in now! Complete your college application on line. Most applications have a counselor portion to be filled out. Print that portion and bring it to the Counseling Office. We will complete it and mail it to the college along with your transcript and ACT test score. If Muskegon Community College is a possible choice for next year, you should apply on line now. No fee is required for this application.
COLLEGE VISITS CAN BE SET UP FOR SENIORS. ARRANGEMENTS SHOULD BE MADE AT LEAST ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE. College visits will not be allowed after May 1. Forms are available in the Counseling Office.

The Michigan Society of Professional Engineers is offering a scholarship for students pursuing a career in Engineering. You must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and an ACT composite score of 26 or higher. Deadline is February 8, 2010.
The Society of Automotive Engineers is offering scholarships to student pursuing a degree in engineering or a related science. THere are GPA and ACT requirements. All the information and application can be downloaded a http://www.sae.org/students/engschlr.htm . Deadline is December 15.
The Michigan Education Association (MEA) Scholarship is awarded to students based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, and school/community service. You must be planning to attend a college in Michigan. Deadline is February 12, 2010.
The Gerber Foundation Merit Scholarship Program is for students who demonstrate leadaership qualties, particpation in school/community activities, high moral character and a constructive attitude. Apply on line at http://www.gerberfoundation.org . Your GPA must be 3.70 or below. Deadline is February 10, 2010.
Burger King is offering a scholarship to students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, who work part-time, demonstrate participation in community service and/or extra-curricular activities, and have a financial need. Apply online at http://www.haveityourwayfoundaton.org/ . Deadline is February 10, 2010.
The AXA Achievement Community Scholarship is for students who have ambition, self-respect and the determination to reach their goals. Applications are online at http://www.axa-achievement.com/ . Deadline is December 15.
The Sam Walton (Wal-Mart) Community Scholarship is available to graduatingg serniors with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and who have taken the ACT or SAT Test. Online application accepted only at http://www.walmartfoundation.org/ . Click on "Scholarship Programs." Deadline is January 29, 2010.
American Legion Brewer Scholarship is available to students who are a son, daughter, or grandchild of a wartime veteran and plan to attend college. A GPA of 2.5 or above is required. Deadlne is January 19, 2010.
American Legion Wilson Scholarship is available to students tho are a son, daughter or grandchild of a wartime veteran and plan to attend a Michigan college. A GPA of 2.5 or above is required. Dadline is January 18, 2010.
The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year Award: you must be a registered active member of a scout troop, have received the Eagle Scout Award, and must demonstrate service in church, school, scouting, and community. Deadlne is April 1, 2010.
The American Legion Oratorical Scholarship Contest is open to all students. An 8-10 minute speech based on an assigned topic is required. Deadline is January 4, 2010.
Muskegon Community Foundation Scholarship is available for students with a definite goal and financial need. Several different community Scholarships are available through this application. All application must be submitted online a http://www.cffmc.org . Deadline is March 1, 2010.
The AAA School Safety Patrol Scholarship is available to students who have documented proof of school safety patrol participation, are in good academic standing and have a record of community or extra-curricular activities. Deadline is April 16, 2010.
The Michigan Oil & Gas Producers Education Foundation has scholarship for students with a minimum GPA of 3.0, intend to pursue a degree inan energy-related industry, and with an ambition of seeking employment in the oil and gas uindustry. Deadline is April 1, 2010.
NALS of Michgan Scholarship is available to those who are planning a career in the legal field. You must have a GPA of 3.0 or above. Deadline is January 15, 2010.
The Courageous Persuaders Video Scholarship Competition is for high school students to use their creative talents to create a television commercal stressing the dangers of underage drinking.
